Creating Members in the Backend

Externable differentiates two types of users - Members and Users. Users are internal people accessing the backend of the portal, Members are end users who can sign in to the frontend.

Your users can sign up themselves only with using frontend forms, but you can also create members directly in the admin panel.

If you want to stop users from signing up themselves, you can hide all Login/Signup pages in the navigation.

To create a new Member in the backoffice:

  1. Go to Members section and 'Create Member':

  1. Give user a name

  1. Take a chance to link the new Member to Dynamics Contact

You don't have to link you Member to Dynamics contact manually if you ticked 'Create Contact on New Member' tickbox on portal configuration
